Ameland loses its’ own ’bus line. The express service between Holwert and Leeuwarden, line 66, will take on a broader function from mid-December. For Hallum and Ferwert, this bus line will function as the only connection to Leeuwarden.

The well-known Mat '64 train, nicknamed the 'Apekop', has officially completed its final regular passenger service today. Dutch Railways (NS) formally removed the train sets from the timetable in 2016, but this marks their true final run.
