Tens of thousands of elderly people with an emergency alarm button are at risk of being in life-threatening situations. EenVandaag reports this on the basis of its own research. The 2G network to which these buttons are connected will soon be switched off. The alarm systems can be pressed by vulnerable elderly people in the event of, for example, a fall in the house, if they suddenly feel unwell or in an unsafe situation, such as strangers at the door.
