Dutch Dachau Committee knew 99-year-old's camp stories were untrue

The Dutch Dachau Committee has known since 2024 about the falsehoods regarding Willem Wilbrink's wartime past and tried to stop him from spreading them. Chairman Wimar Jaeger told the NOS that the foundation was aware. The 99-year-old Wilbrink regularly attended World War II commemorations and visited schools to speak about his wartime experiences and his time in the Dachau concentration camp. However, an article published this week in the Historisch Nieuwsblad shows it is highly unlikely he was ever imprisoned there.
