Temporary protection or asylum? Ukrainians don't really know where they stand

Mixed feelings among Ukrainians after it became known that their asylum applications must be examined. "On the one hand, there is a slight hope that the temporary nature of our stay will end, but on the other hand, we still don't know where we stand," says Ukrainian Jamal Statsenko. An experience shared by Anna Bieliaieva from Vital'nya, a community for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands. "We are increasingly hearing that people are aware of the European ruling, but what will happen now remains unclear."
