Leeuwarden is the first city in Fryslân to break through the 100,000 inhabitants barrier

Leeuwarden is the first city in Fryslân with more than 100,000 inhabitants. Michiel Goeman has become the 100,000th resident, the municipality writes in a press release. Goeman moved with his wife and children from Workum to Leeuwarden. They took their home with them, because that is a ship converted into a house. The family received a bunch of flowers from alderman Julie Bruijnincx.
