Municipalities want more money for resilience against disasters and threats
Municipalities feel that they do not receive enough money from the central government to make themselves resilient against all kinds of threats. These include, for example, cyber and hybrid threats or dangers caused by climate change, such as wildfires. Sharon Dijksma, chairman of the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG), says that municipalities need a multiple of what is budgeted in the Million Note for the resilience test. “I'm assuming that it's hundreds of millions in total.”
