French minister announces emergency plan after protests: 3,000 substitute teachers

The French Minister of Education has announced an emergency plan in response to ongoing protests in France. In the short term, he wants to deploy more than 3,000 extra teachers. According to Minister Geffray, these teachers will work at the 514 schools with the largest teacher shortages. The minister says most of them can start by next Tuesday.
