Maastricht University cancels Jewish meeting due to safety

Maastricht University cancelled a meeting of a Jewish student association last night. The educational institution says that safety could not be guaranteed due to online calls from both supporters and opponents. A space was made available in a university building for a meeting between student association IJAR and the pro-Israel organisation StandWithUs. There, assistant professor Eli Sapir would give a lecture on the theme 'Three years after 7 October', referring to the Hamas terrorist attacks in 2023.
