Next year, travelling by train will again be a lot more expensive. On average, the price of a train ticket at NS increases by 4.7 percent. The "income from train tickets is needed to purchase new comfortable trains, pay the increased costs and continue to invest in good facilities," says Daan Schut, who is responsible for fares on the NS Board of Directors.
