Leeuwarden puts an end to fireworks exemptions

During the coming turn of the year, no exemptions will be granted in Leeuwarden for organized fireworks activities. According to the Board of Mayors and Aldermen, there is insufficient time, capacity and policy preparation to carefully elaborate the possibilities for this. The college has been following the national discussion about the fireworks ban for a long time. In addition, the board sees various bottlenecks around the feasibility and enforcement.
