Handel and the Frisian Nassaus come together in Leeuwarden

On Saturday, October 24, the Grote of Jacobijnerkerk will be the setting for a special musical encounter with history. The Apollo Ensemble will perform Georg Friedrich Händel's Il Parnasso in Festa there. The piece was written nearly three hundred years ago on the occasion of the marriage of Princess Anna of Hanover and Willem IV of Orange-Nassau, the Frisian stadtholder.
