Traffic Suurhoff bridge up to eight weeks over emergency lane due to cracks in construction

The traffic that goes via the western part of the Suurhoff bridge in the A15 to the Maasvlakte will have to continue to drive over the emergency lane for the next six to eight weeks. Yesterday, Rijkswaterstaat announced that cracks had been found in the main beams of the bridge during an inspection. As a result, the safety of the old part of the bridge could no longer be guaranteed. In order to relieve the bridge, yesterday afternoon the two regular lanes of the western part of the bridge closed.
