Visitors to Grolsch who became unwell were indeed given caustic soda

The visitors and employees of the Grolsch beer brewery who became unwell on Saturday during a tour indeed ingested caustic soda. That suspicion was already there, but research has now also shown this. Caustic soda is a corrosive substance in the cleaning agent used to clean pipes. Last Saturday, this product was used to clean the pipe to which the test tap for tapping brewing water is connected.
