Marcus paints a centuries-old portrait on Franeker Waag: "She has been very important to the city"

Gradually, the portrait of Anna Maria van Schurman appears on the side facade of the Waag in Franeker. Spraypainter Marcus Wedman paints the painting on the wall in a few days using state-of-the-art techniques. "Anna Maria van Schurman has, of course, been a very important woman for Franeker," says Arnold van der Schoot. He felt that there was too little attention in Franeker's streetscape for prominent residents from history.
