Fourth death in the Netherlands after West Nile virus infection

The RIVM reports that a fourth person in the Netherlands has died after contracting the West Nile virus. The deceased patient was already seriously ill and contracted the virus through a blood transfusion. It remains unclear whether the virus was the direct cause of death, or if the person's pre-existing fragile health was the decisive factor.
