Many elderly people severely injured in falls as awareness week begins

Figures from VeiligheidNL show that around 124,000 elderly people ended up in emergency care last year after a fall, mostly with severe injuries. The number of serious fall incidents among seniors has increased by 16 percent over the past decade. A national awareness week has been launched to focus on fall prevention.
