Nearly half of Dutch residents experience social nuisance, mainly from loitering youth

Nearly half of people in the Netherlands experience social nuisance in their own neighbourhood. According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS) based on its biennial Safety Monitor, loitering youth cause the most disruption. Last year, 46 percent of people over 15 experienced neighbourhood nuisance, up from 42 percent four years earlier. CBS defines social nuisance as loitering youth, drunk and confused people, drug use and dealing, and nuisance caused by neighbours.
