Small savers will pay more tax Already from 2028 there will be a capital gains tax, which will apply to hundreds of thousands of savers and investors more than now. That became known yesterday after the government's adjusted budget plans leaked out. This change mainly affects smaller savers. The minority cabinet wants them to have to pay wealth tax on 30,000 euros of savings, instead of the approximately 60,000 euros which is in effect now.
