Fire at Eindhoven asylum center extinguished, residents allowed to return

A fire broke out this morning at an asylum seekers' center in Eindhoven. According to Omroep Brabant, the blaze started in a tent on the grounds where bicycle batteries were stored. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and allowed the batteries to burn out safely. As a precaution, all residents from the shelter on Sliffertsestraat, estimated at 150 to 200 people, were evacuated outside. Emergency services handed out thermal blankets, and an ambulance was also present. No injuries were reported.
