Radboudumc doctors develop surgery to restore clitoris after vulvar cancer

Doctors at Radboudumc have successfully reconstructed clitorises so they are fully functional and can achieve orgasms. This was shown in an initial study of women who lost part of their clitoris due to vulvar cancer. Out of the first 23 patients who underwent the reconstructive surgery, 90 percent were able to experience a clitoral orgasm again. This occurred three to six months after the operation.
