Football matches from now on stopped immediately when fireworks are thrown at the field or stands
The KNVB has tightened the protocols around the use of fireworks during football matches. From now on, matches will be stopped immediately if fireworks are thrown or shot towards the field or another compartment. This decision was taken after consultation of the football association with the Public Prosecution Service, the police, Minister David van Weel of Justice and Security and Mayor Paul Depla of Breda (on behalf of all mayors with paid football organisations in their municipalities).
