Dutch films win prizes, but competitive position under pressure

Today the Dutch Film Festival starts in Utrecht, with dozens of Dutch productions. Dutch films have won many awards at international festivals in recent years, but the competitiveness of the Dutch film industry is under pressure, the Dutch Film Fund notes. This includes, among other things, the way in which the films are financed. "The dependence on the Film Fund is high," says spokesperson Marieke of Zalk.
