LOOP Leeuwarden will be more than a month earlier than originally planned next year. The running event is now on April 11th instead of May 23rd. This has to do with the fact that the SC Cambuur - Ajax match will also take place on 23 May. The combination of both events on the same day would put great pressure on accessibility, infrastructure and the deployment of emergency services in the city. This is evident from the latest Child Monitor of GGD Fryslân. GGD Fryslân also sees about the same picture in the municipality of Leeuwarden. For the Child Monitor, more than ten thousand parents from Friesland completed a questionnaire about their child from zero to twelve years of age.

Frisia narrowly misses Cup upset; Heerenveen and Cambuur left as only Frisian clubs in draw

LAC Frisia just missed out on qualifying for the KNVB Cup. In the final qualifying round, the Leeuwarden side lost 1-0 away at Noordwijk. That comes as no surprise: Noordwijk leads the Third Division, while Frisia is twelfth in the Fourth Division. Still, Jan van Raalte's team held onto hopes of an upset for a long time. Ilias Latif scored the 1-0 in the 27th minute, but the Frisians kept pace well after that.
