The police have arrested a man from Roosendaal who is suspected of shooting another man in the eye. The 44-year-old man was arrested last night by the Special Interventions Service, which is used for suspects with firearms. The victim was found on Wednesday evening in a house on Hoogstraat in Roosendaal. He had been shot in the face, probably with a gas gun.

A large fire broke out in a parking garage on Theodoor van Hoytemastraat in Amsterdam Nieuw-West around 2:45 am. At least 55 homes above the parking garage had to be evacuated, reports the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. The fire is now under control.
